Our Story

DoggieDash began with one simple goal: to give dogs the kind of adventures they deserve.

What started as a small local dog walking business has grown into a close-knit community of happy, well-exercised dogs across Newcastle. Although we've grown over the years, one thing has stayed exactly the same. Every dog is treated like family, every adventure is thoughtfully planned, and every decision is made with their safety, happiness and wellbeing in mind.

Meet Hannah

Hi! I'm the two-legged leader of our little adventure-loving pack.

Most days, you'll find me somewhere between the beach and the bush with a van full of sandy paws and wagging tails. From planning out routes, carefully curating each pack, to spending each morning out exploring with the pups, I am involved in every step of the process and genuinely love what I do.

Before DoggieDash, I was studying Occupational Therapy while working in roles centred around helping others, including support work, lifeguarding and coaching basketball with the Special Olympics. Looking back, caring for others has always been at the heart of what I do. Today, that care is simply directed towards dogs and the people who love them.

How it all started

My love for dogs began with Kelsie, our first family dog, who was by my side through my earliest years. She was the beginning of my lifelong connection with dogs. Then came Bonnie, who showed me just how incredible that connection could be. Getting to know her, understanding what made her happy and sharing so many years together deepened my love for dogs in a way I never expected.

When COVID-19 lockdowns brought my work as a lifeguard and support worker to a pause in 2021, I found myself searching for a new path. At the time, I was also studying Occupational Therapy, but dog walking quickly showed me something I hadn't expected. After exploring many different roles focused on helping others, nothing felt quite like this. It just felt right.

What began as a simple way to stay busy and earn an income became something I truly loved. I never set out to build a business; I simply followed the joy I found in spending my days with dogs, and slowly it grew into what DoggieDash is today.

A defining moment came when another local dog walker invited me to take over a handful of her regular dogs. She also became an incredible mentor, introducing me to the world of well-managed pack walks. Seeing the positive impact these adventures had on the dogs inspired the direction the business would eventually take.

Doggie Dash Today

WalkEase Dog Walking eventually became DoggieDash, a name that better captured the adventures and community that had grown around us.

Not long after, our little doggy mobile made way for a fully equipped adventure van. It gave us room to welcome more dogs while creating a safer and more comfortable journey for every member of the pack.

Every weekday, our pack heads out on two adventures across Newcastle's beaches, bushland and parks. Some of our dogs have been joining us for years, while others are just beginning their DoggieDash journey. We are always excited to welcome new playmates and continue growing our little community.

While our pack has grown, the relationships have remained the most rewarding part. Getting to know both the dogs and their families, building trust and being part of their lives for years has been one of the greatest privileges of this journey.

Some owners tell me their dog has learnt the sound of the van arriving, while others say they get excited the moment they hear my name. Receiving photos of dogs fast asleep after an adventure, or watching a once-shy dog grow into a confident member of the pack, are the moments that remind me why I started DoggieDash.

I'm always looking for new places to explore, better ways to enrich our adventures and opportunities to strengthen the relationships we've built along the way. Although DoggieDash has grown, the love and passion behind it remains just as strong as it was on my very first walk.
