DoggieDash specialises in off-leash group adventures for dogs who enjoy exploring, socialising and being active outdoors.Before joining the pack, we arrange a Meet & Greet to get to know your dog, discuss their personality and make sure our adventures are the right fit for them.

Can shy or nervous dogs join?

Possibly!Some dogs simply need the right environment and the right introductions to build confidence. During your Meet & Greet, we’ll chat about your dog’s personality and experience to determine whether our group adventures are suitable.We always take introductions at your dog's pace and never rush the process.

Can puppies or older dogs join?

Possibly!Age alone doesn't determine whether a dog is suitable for our adventures. We consider your dog's confidence, energy levels, health and overall personality.For puppies, we take into account their age, development and social experience. For older dogs, we consider their mobility and whether they will enjoy the pace of our adventures.During your Meet & Greet, we’ll discuss whether DoggieDash is the right fit for your dog.

How do you match dogs together?

Every pack is carefully curated based on each dog's temperament, confidence, play style and energy level.Rather than grouping dogs purely by size or age, we focus on creating balanced packs where every dog feels comfortable, safe and enjoys the experience.We take introductions seriously and only add new dogs when we're confident they will be a positive addition to the group.

How many dogs are in each group?

Our groups typically include 4-7 dogs.We believe smaller, carefully managed groups create the best experience for the dogs. We only add new dogs when it is safe, manageable and enjoyable for everyone involved.Creating the right group is always more important than simply filling every spot.

Are all walks off-leash?

Yes. DoggieDash specialises exclusively in off-leash group adventures.Dogs are only allowed off-leash once we have assessed that they are suitable for our adventures and have reliable recall.Safety is always our priority, and we choose locations where dogs can explore and enjoy their freedom responsibly.

What if my dog's recall isn't perfect?

Not every dog is off-leash ready straight away.We’ll discuss your dog’s recall and previous experience during the Meet & Greet. If we feel they need more confidence or training before joining the pack, we’ll be honest and guide you in the right direction.

Do dogs need to be desexed?

Generally, yes.As we specialise in off-leash group adventures, desexing helps us maintain a safe, balanced and respectful environment for all dogs in our care.If your dog has a desexing appointment booked or there are exceptional circumstances, please get in touch and we’re happy to discuss your options.

What if my dog takes time to settle in?

Every dog settles in differently.Some dogs feel right at home from their first adventure, while others need a little more time to become comfortable with the routine and their new friends.We take introductions at your dog's pace and will always keep you updated on how they are settling in.

Where do you walk?

Our adventures take place across Newcastle, including beaches, bush tracks, parks and open reserves.We choose each location based on the weather, the dogs in the group and where they will have the safest and most enjoyable experience.

How long are the adventures?

Each adventure includes at least 60 minutes of off-leash exploring, walking and play, plus transport to and from our walking locations.Many adventures naturally run longer when the dogs are having a great time and enjoying themselves.

How do I get started?

Simply click Enquire Now and tell us a little about your dog, where you are located and which days you are interested in.If it sounds like we would be a good fit, we’ll arrange a complimentary Meet & Greet before your dog's first adventure.

How does pick-up and drop-off work?

We collect and return your dog from your home, so you don’t need to be available during the adventure.We’ll organise a secure pick-up plan that works for your routine, including access instructions if needed.

Question 15

What should I prepare for walk day?

Not much!Simply make sure we have access to your dog at the agreed collection time.If you would like your dog to wear a specific harness or collar, please leave it ready for us. Likewise, if your dog has dietary requirements or you would prefer they receive a specific type of treat, feel free to leave these out.Otherwise, we carry kibble treats on all of our adventures.

Do you provide updates?

Absolutely!We share daily photo and video updates through our Instagram, so you can see what your dog has been up to while they’re out adventuring. We can also provide a more thorough review of their walks upon request.

What happens if my dog is injured?

Your dog's safety is always our highest priority.While we take every precaution, accidents can happen. In the unlikely event of an injury or emergency, you will be contacted immediately.We have completed Animal First Aid training and have procedures in place to respond appropriately should anything happen.

What happens in bad weather?

Our adventures continue rain, hail or shine! 🌧️☀️ The dogs don’t mind a little rain, and we always have wet weather gear on hand for those muddy, fun-filled days.Safety always comes first, so I keep a close eye on the forecast and will let you know if we need to adjust plans, such as starting earlier on hot days.The only time we press pause is during unsafe conditions like thunderstorms, flooding or extreme heat. In these cases, we’ll either reschedule where possible or contact you to discuss the best option.

What is your cancellation policy?

For regular weekly bookings, we require at least 7 days’ notice for cancellations.For casual bookings, we require at least 24 hours’ notice.Late cancellations may still be charged, as that space has been reserved specifically for your dog.

Are you accepting new dogs?

Absolutely! We’re always excited to meet new dogs and welcome them into our pack. Because our groups are carefully matched, we take the time to find the right fit for each dog. Send through an enquiry and we’ll chat about your dog, your preferred days, and how we can get their adventures started!
